A generation licence authorises the licensee to construct, own, and operate and maintain a generation facility for the purpose of the generation and supply of electricity. The application process is governed by the Electricity Act and involves the submission of an Environmental Impact Assessment and a technical evaluation by ZERA, during which they may seek further engagement with the applicant. Since this Generation Licence is for the applicant’s own consumption, they do not pay a Licence Fee.
